The Plug

08 Sep, 2005

I bought new portable headphones for my Mp3 player. I decided upon The Plug by Koss as they seemed to be comfortable, have good sound quality, and weren't very expensive.

My old headphones, the ones that came bundled with the player was, as always, utter crap. The sound quality wasn't any good, but decent for most people. The main problem I had with them was that they wouldn't stay in my ears if I was running, or even walking fast. They were also very hard, and unpleasent to have in the ears. The Plug are by comparison very soft, the earbud is something similar to sound blocking earplugs and comes with several different sizes. In all, a bliss for my ears.

As for the sound quality, they are undoubtably better than my old ones, but now my shitty little (cheap!) mp3 player is the weakest link in the chain. Someday I hope to afford a nice Ogg Vorbis player that holds considerably more than my existing 128M of music.

A small drawback with The Plug is that the cable for the headphones are very thin, and I'm worried that it will get damaged in a zipper or by my keys.

In related news, lately I have been listening a lot to Eels - Electro-Shock-Blues, Godspeed You Black Emperor - Lift Your Skinny Fists Like Antennas to Heaven and Crash Test Dummies - God Shuffled His Feet (this album, I sort of re-discovered).
