Film Noir & more

Had an film noir evening watching two classics, The Third Man and DOA. (The copyright of DOA has expired and this film can be downloaded from the Internet Archive.).
Also watched The Corporation, good, if a little bit preachy, and Wild at Heart, good but not great.

The Birds

Watched The Birds. Very good, also interesting to see just how much inspiration later films, especially Night of the Living Dead, have drawn from this classic.

Capricorn One

Watched Capricorn One from 1978. Nothing to get excited about really, ok acting, bad script, and it felt quite dated.

Resident Evil

Watched Resident Evil. That’s one and an half hour of my life I wont get back, the movie was predictable, boring and not at all in line with the (quite good) video game.

Bug assist

Some time ago I made a suggestion to the maintainer of Totem to add a hand cursor when you hover the mouse over DVD menus (to make them easier to find). This was implemented almost immediately, but with one small bug. The hand cursor was never visible when running Totem in fullscreen.

Debian Sarge wallpaper

Debian Sarge was finally declared stable and released. I created a simple wallpaper in Inkscape to celebrate this.
Not everyone thinks a military style wallpaper is a good idea, so this is of course highly unofficial.
The wallpaper is also in my small gallery with the SVG file. (Licensed under GNU GPL)
